Something I’ve Always Wanted to Do

{Day 6} What’s something you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t? Why not?

OK this is easy: DRIVE A CAR

Like properly drive one. The public transport in Yogya, where I live right now, is a joke and if you want to go anywhere you can either take a motorbike (which was what I did when I was in uni) or take a gojek or drive your own car.

I took some lessons when I was still at uni and drove a manual car. My teacher was this really patient, old man who always told me what to do. That was the problem, he was always dictating what to do that when he wasn’t there, I was in a complete state of panic and was totally clueless. I gave up after a while.

Anyway, now I realised that I need to get back behind the wheels since I really want to start going everywhere independently. Also, having the ability to drive would be totally awesome for my future travels. I can just imagine having a road trip in the middle of nowhere in the Italian countryside.

Tapi takutnya masih gede padahal suami sejak tahun kemaren kasih saran buat ikut ujian mengemudi. Jadi kalau ada apa2, aku ga tergantung sama dia. Lah gimana, naik sepeda motor aja aku takut banget 😁.

      • Aku ga suka naik dokar sejak dikentutin sama kudanya hahaha. Jadi waktu aku kecil (2 SD kayaknya), pas lagi di Nganjuk, aku ikut Ibu ke pasar. Naik dokarlah kami dan aku suka duduk di depan (samping pak kusir yg sedang bekerja hahaha). Eh jarannya kentut lalu aku pusiiinggg cenut2 kepalaku sepanjang hari. Setelahnya jadi trauma dikentutin kuda lagi dan ga mau naik dokar. Duh, trauma kok dikentutin kuda haha. Ga keren blass.

  3. Haha, here I never drive. So everytime I am on vacation in Indonesia, I always feel anxious a little bit about having to drive there. But then it turns out driving is like biking, once you know how to do it, then you know how to do it. You just need to get used to with the surrounding a little bit first, though πŸ˜› .

    • Getting used to the surrounding here will probably take a little bit more time haha, I am sooooo scared of the motorbikes here! But anyway I hope once I feel ready to drive will have to put aside my fear and try to learn to drive again πŸ˜€
